Here at Nishiyama Stoneworks we have a few people behind the scenes. A jeweler, Kaliah and her sons Ray and Eno.

My sons have always been deeply drawn to nature—just like me. They are fascinated by gemstones, how they are formed, and the quiet beauty they hold. Whether it’s the deep purple of amethyst, the history captured in ammonite, or the patterns within agate, we find joy and peace in learning about these natural materials together.

Taking the time to understand how something forms over years, sometimes millions of years, has a way of slowing everything down. It reminds us to notice the small details—the tiny wonders that are so easy to overlook. Jewelry became a natural extension of that. The fact that something formed by the earth can be shaped, worn, and carried with you. This workshop grew from that shared experience. What began as learning together turned into a collaborative process, where my sons take part in the design decisions—bringing their curiosity, their perspective, and their genuine love for these materials.

As a jeweler, I created Nishiyama Stoneworks not only to pass down craftsmanship and skill, but also to preserve that sense of wonder—seeing materials through the eyes of a child, where everything feels new, meaningful, and full of possibility.

Each piece reflects both:
the discipline of craftsmanship, and the quiet joy of discovery.

It is our hope that what we create brings that same feeling to others—a sense of connection, a moment of pause, and a reminder of the beauty found in nature.
